ANDION GLOBAL ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF LUCA BELLI AS EUROPEAN MANAGING DIRECTOR
VANCOUVER, CANADA – Andion Global (“Andion” or the “Company”), a proven leader in contributing to a net-zero future by converting organic waste to renewable natural gas (“RNG”), announced today that Mr. Luca Belli has been appointed Managing Director, Europe, located at Andion Italy SpA’s office, based in Milan.
“We are extremely excited to have Luca Belli join Andion as European Director. His proven experience within the biogas sector in Europe will be a tremendous asset to Andion as we hit this critical point of inflection in our global expansion. Mr. Belli’s deep technical and commercial knowledge of the design, build and operational aspects of the biogas industry will be key as Andion continues to develop additional anaerobic digestion facilities throughout Europe,” said Phillip Abrary, CEO of Andion Global.
Prior to joining Andion Global, Mr. Belli was Operations Director at Suez Italy. During his tenure at Suez Italy, Belli held roles as Operations Director, with managerial and financial responsibility for O&M contracts as well as responsibility of the delivery platform for their SES Division (Smart Environmental Solutions), and operational performance of Suez Italy’s Business Unit along with innovation and sustainable development. Mr. Belli has a wealth of experience in the biogas sector both in Italy and Europe having served with many companies in the biogas, anaerobic digestion and wastewater industries. Notably, Belli served as Managing Director at Anaergia Europe Gmbh, and Anaergia Srl, spanning from 2010 to 2017, where he was responsible for P&L and the company’s global expansion in the biogas market.
“I am very pleased to have the opportunity to join Andion Europe as Managing Director. The need to reduce carbon emissions globally is becoming more acute which is perfectly timed with Andion’s growth strategy within the biogas sector to develop anaerobic digestion facilities to produce clean and renewable energy. I look forward to contributing my knowledge in the biogas industry, as well as my passion for people and building cohesive and inspired teams, to position Andion as a leading renewable energy developer in Italy and in the other countries where Andion has a presence,” said Belli.
Roberto Zocchi will move from Managing Director to Board Chair of Andion Italy SpA.
“We would like to thank Roberto for his strong leadership and support during the past two years and his role in establishing Andion as a market leader in the biogas sector in Italy, and we are pleased to keep on having his support as Board Chair of Andion Italy SpA,” said Abrary.
Andion’s proven platform can manage a variety of organic waste, ensuring the efficient, sustainable and economically viable handling and conversion to RNG. Andion’s RNG facilities, located in Italy, the Nordics and North America, provide environmental and socio-economic benefits for cities facing waste challenges. Current methods for managing organic waste include sending waste to landfills; waste-to-energy recovery through incineration; composting; and, anaerobic digestion. Sending waste to landfills contributes to the production of methane while Andion’s proprietary anerobic digestion technology is carbon-negative. Anaerobic digestion reduces greenhouse gas emissions, reduces odours and requires a small footprint, supporting the circular economy as the organic waste is converted into RNG.
Andion’s facilities have the ability to process hundreds of thousands of tons of a variety of organic waste, providing a sustainable solution for waste produced by households, restaurants, agriculture, energy crops and industrial processing plants. Andion’s process reduces greenhouse gas emissions produced from transportation, landfills and the burning of waste, and creates RNG, a sustainable source of fuel for communities around the world.
